Amy Winehouse’s Wedding Dress Stolen!!!
Amy Winehouse’s unconventional anchor-patterned wedding dress was stolen out of her Camden home in North London. The dress held significant sentimental value to her father especially who said the loss was “a blow.” Amy wore the dress when she wed Blake Fielder-Civil in 2006. A second dress of hers made out of newsprint was also swiped. Both dresses were set aside for an auction later this year to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The wedding dress was expected to raise about $130,000 and the newsprint dress which she wore to perform on Jools Holland’s BBC music show was expected to be sold for $40,000.
After Amy’s death in 2011, her home was treated like a shrine by fans and at the time of the theft her items were being cataloged for auction. Oddly some more pricey designer duds including some pieces by Dolce & Gabanna were not taken which raised suspicions. “Her wedding dress was only a little cotton thing,” Amy’s dad said. “Whoever nicked it realized its significance and knew it had an extra value.”
